| Hello everyone, i am very glad that i found this forum! I love motorcycles and i want my own someday. My favorite type is a Harley Davidson. I would love to build one but, of course, i am not the mechanical type. Anyone else here love Harleys??? | ||

I would consider a Harley Davidson a cruiser, not a chopper. Buell motorcycles are made by Harley Davidson, but I'd never get a HD. I'd rather ride a Honda or Yamaha, or maybe a Victory if I had to choose a cruiser. __________________ Buell Motorcycle Parts and Forum www.BuellXB.com

| Yamaha, Honda, and Victory make some really nice cruisers now. I bet a lot of die-hard Harley Davidson riders would think twice if they took the time to check out the competition. They all offer some really neat set ups and custom motorcycles options. | ||

They are all good bikes...it's mostly preference...if you want one made in USA go Harley...if you don't care if its made someplace else then your choices are open

I agree custom made harleys seem to be the best. They aren't a crotch rocket ...they are a harley and Harley Davidson does stand for something that no Japanese bike has>

| I am sorry, but harley bikes are all but smooth. Also, their engines might be dependable, dependable on tip top maintenance schedules for them to stay in shape. | ||

Well dear paperclip. My dad has had a harley for years now and this baby purrs like a kitten. Although you are right about the maintinance. He is forever working on that baby.

They are good, I admit that. Is like comparing an american muscle car with an import. The imports are usually more reliable and can be put through hell. The American cars, are often not as reliable.
The difference is that most American cars can be rebuilt and rebuilt and with proper maintenance can really push the limits of mechanical engineering. Once you blow an import, it's time for a new one. |

| I thought that too. Now that I think about it, most Harley owners I know are always tinkering with it. Those riding imports don't seem to be....but they do seem to replace them more often. | ||
