What better sport bike than a Buell motorcycle? 395 lb bike sitting on a Harley 1200cc V-twin. Buell claims that I have the lightest production front end of any sport bike on the market. Fuel in-frame, center mounted exhaust pipe, and a short wheelbase makes this bike handle better than anything I've ever seen.

Wow Buell! That is one sweet ride! My husband is sitting here drooling over it! lol Starting to change my impression of sports bikes!

Yeah, they're really sick motorcycles. I love a sport bike with the sound of a Harley. Buells have a lot of low end torque instead of the typical high-rpm power in most jap sport bikes.

Hey Buell! So this bike doesn't sound like a typical sport's bike? You know, lol like a mosquito on steroids? lol That's what my dad says they sound like.
Posted:  04 Mar 2007 04:31
Nope, they sound just like most Harley motorcycles.

Nice looking bike there buellxb Looks like it would be fun to ride too. How long have you had it?

I've had my Buell XB12Scg for about a year now. In that short amount of time I built a really popular Buell motorcycle forum. I'm officially addicted to Buell motorcycles.

Well a 1000cc is good for me.  My little XB9s is an awsome ride.  I love it and agree with Buellxb abotu the handeling of the bike.  Thanks for the info about this forum Buellxb, it looks allright.

Thanks for the info on the website because my husband knows alot about motorcycles but isnt real familar with the Buell motorcycle and is interested in learning more about them

I used to own a 98' cbr f3 and have recently bought a Buell Lightning 1200 and wow!  Its not faster than my 600 by any means.(on the top end)  But the handling is far superior, and the sound cant be beat.  Not to mention the looks.  If you want a sportbike out of the norm then a Buell is for you.
The forum mentioned above is awesome...loads of info and some cool pics. Buellxb.com

If you want to be some p**** and do 180+ in a straight line go buy some cookie cutter import that looks like every other sportbike out there.  If you want to carve up some corners and turn heads then join the club and get a Buell

Wow, dozer lol, sorry if i sound rude but you sound like you are doing an ad or something. I agree with you there though.
Posted:  26 Mar 2007 03:28
It may sound like an ad, but I think dozer is trying to open up people to Buell motorcycles. Most people don't know anything about them, and the few that know of them don't really know what makes them so cool. I'm surprised we don't see more people on this forum talking about choppers. I guess you have to have at least $20k to $35k to even think about putting together a nice custom chopper.

Not an ad...but this thread is is titled "new buell owner"  I am agreeing with buellxb about how cool buells are and how not many people know about them.  Choppers are awesome, but you better like wrenching.  BTW Did you all see how Jay Leno's OCC bike broke down while he was riding it??  Those bikes are sweet I'll admit, but not meant to be ridden (very much).  They are show bikes all the way.

I never heard about the breaking down issue with choppers. I would be pretty upset if all I could do was look at my $30k bike.

30k?  Those OCC choppers are well into six figures now.  Most people buying them now are celebrities, corporations, atheletes...etc.  I guess with the succes of the show their bikes have become sort of a social status symbol.

Hi guys, custom, i didn't mean anything by that luv, i was just playing. I understand his passion for the Buell, it's one sweet ride, i wouldn't mind testing one myself one day

I could help test....I mean purely to help someone out and for scientific purposes....Understand that a through test would require 200 or so miles a day over say a week....

Just want to help.....

I am actually waiting for one of their test drive offers at the local dealership.
Posted:  05 May 2007 17:05
Ok, I admit it...I'm literally green with envy! For me to do that I'd have to get on a waiting list at a dealer 150 miles from me. Oh well, I can drool.

Be sure to post and tell me how it was!

150 miles!! wow where the heck do ya live?  I bet if you found a dealership with a used bike they would let you test ride it
Posted:  14 May 2007 14:48
That is an option too!  There's no waiting list here since there's 3 dealerships within about 30 mins.

I'm in nomans land of Southern Illinois. The biggest town for 100 miles has a population of 12,500.

But we have lots of Churches. LOTS and LOTS of Churches....

I suppose I can pray that a dealership open up nearby.....
