Who thinks they have the loudest exhaust and engine setup? I want to build a chopper that will stop multiple city blocks when I hit the red line. It would be nice to have a setup that could utilize a silencer so you're not getting pulled over by the police every five seconds. By the way, this looks like a pretty nice custom motorcycle forum, but it could use some more members.

With just about any custom exhaust you can by a silencer to go on or off it...Super Trap makes them as do a bunch of other places. You just have to check around.

Many pipe manufacturers do make pipes with removable silencers, usually internal units.  You can also get silencers individually, just need to make sure there's  enough straight pipe at the end to put them on

Yes that's true...if I was to buy one I would do some research on the internet or go to the local harley shop and ask them. Just be sure to do some research first...but in the end its personal preference

I just ordered a Jardine carbon fiber pipe for my XB9s.  They advertise a silencer for it that is a 2 min install or removial.  Of course I did not order it though...

Jardine sounds like a good choice. Let us know how it works out for you and if you decide to get the silencer

That's a nice looking pipe there.  First time I see a buell with a custom pipe (off the racetrack that is)

Thanks, I was looking for something that not everyone was using.  Not too many Buellers go with the Jardine and it's very loud.

Jardine is a great choice and there are many manufacturers that offer loud pipes but some have an annoying sound. Jardine with their good reputation probably have a great sound...let us know if that's true

Hey Jem...if you look hard enough you CAN get that Buell you want.  I got an 06 Lightnig 1200 with 600miles on it for $7000 out the door!!!  New they're around $11,500.  You would be suprised what you can find.  I just started calling dealerships and found the one I got.  You may not get exactly the color you want but that can be changed down the road.  You dont even have to call locally...most will ship!!  Or make a weekend trip when you find one you like.

You got quite a deal on your Lightnig 1200.....The best I've heard of locally was 9950. And he is a dealer!

Great job!

Watch out changing the pipes, they are tuned from the factory for the engine for proper back pressure and performance, Changing for sound will decrease back pressure and cut your power and speed. Am a custom builder and know what Im talking about ... www.teamcycle.com

Ok, here's a bizarre question....Has anyone here had trouble with local cops because the bike was loud? I guess the question is if there is a noise ordinance, is that an issue?
